It's official, we have measurable snow. This is the view from my door this morning. It sure does brighten everything up! Poor little Lizzy (our Yorkie) did not want to step foot, or should I say paws in the snow. She was running around unsure of what to do and trying to keep her back legs up. It was a funny sight. The kittens aren't sure what to make of this white stuff either.
I do have a VERY happy little boy though. He is with his dad in the semi this week but he called me from South Dakota yesterday nearly bursting with excitement to tell me that it was snowing there and that he just couldn't wait to make snowballs and have a snowball fight.
I'll make a trip to the basement pantry later today to get out our winter snowman cookie jar out of storage and fill it with a batch of my mom's yummy sugar cookies. Which is our yearly tradition on the first measurable snow.
The sun is brightly shining this morning and temps are expected to reach the mid forties so I'm not sure how long the snow will stick around. It's beautiful nonetheless. Enjoy your day, wherever you may be.
That photo is beautiful!! And what a wonderful tradition to make cookies on your first day of snow. I'm thinking I'll have to incorporate that into our winter activities! It has snowed several times actually on my daughter's birthday in early December...it's appropriate, too, as she is a real snow lover! So cookies would be just perfect for our first snow.
